When I was a kid, I loved to watch wrestling. I grew up during the days of Dusty Rhodes, Junkyard Dog, “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, and Andre the Giant. My grandfather and I would spend Friday or Saturday nights watching what he called “rasslin’.”

Now my sons and I spend Thursday evenings watching some rasslin’ on WWE Superstars.

Some of my sons’ favorite wrestlers are MVP, R-Truth, Carlito, Undertaker, John Cena, and Rey Mysterio.

That is why we were so excited when Mattel sent us Rey Mysterio, MVP, and Undertaker figures from the new WWE Collection to review.

The figure is incredibly detailed with Rey Mysterio’s tattoos and his signature 619 down the side of his pants. My 2-year-old son, who calls all wrestlers “Big Guys,” really loves Rey Mysterio’s flip kickin’ action. He activates the moves by pulling and releasing the figure’s arms or legs. As you can imagine, Rey Mysterio has flipped off the kitchen counter, various pieces of furniture and down the stairs. Luckily, Mattel has built a sturdy figure that can withstand the rough play.

WWE ELITE Collection MVP Figure (Series 1)
MVP is also a highly detailed figure. In addition to his wrestling outfit, this figure comes complete with headband, chains, and nose strip. The figure also has MVP’s signature smirk on its face. My middle son loves MVP and plays with the figure all the time. He and his brother have built a makeshift wrestling ring to hold matches. I’m impressed by the figure’s articulation and versatility. Not only is the MVP figure a good wrestler, but it is also a good superhero who is a worthy adversary of Superman and Batman.

WWE ELITE Collection UNDERTAKER Figure (Series 1)
I must admit that I also like to play with and collect action figures. I’m impressed with the Undertaker figure because it is well made and full of interesting detail. The figure wears the menacing black outfit and the hat and coat are removable (removing the coat was a bit difficult, but I finally got it off). Since the figures are build to scale, you can see that Undertaker is much bigger than Rey Mysterio. By the way, Undertaker is undefeated in all matches against MVP and Rey Mysterio in my house. I have no mercy on the boys when they bring their figures into the ring.

Stay Strong,
