Do Dads Matter?

Distinctly Dad

Nearly every day, someone arrives to this website after searching for the phrase, “do dads matter.” While I am thankful that they are taking the time to research the matter, I am frustrated that this question continues to be asked.

Children who live without their fathers are more likely to likely to be poor, to use drugs, to experience behavioral problems, or engage in criminal behavior (see “The Father Absence Crisis in America” for more details). But I don’t want to dwell on the negative impact of life without fathers. I prefer to focus on how fathers play an active role in their children’s growth and development.

This short film, Distinctively Dad, shows how three fathers are positively impacting their children’s lives just by being dads.

After watching this film and reading other articles on Mocha Dad, I hope that people will realize that fathers play a huge role in our children’s lives. Being a dad isn’t always easy, but it is the most rewarding job a man can have.

Stay Strong,
