I’m a big kid at heart. I probably like shopping for toys more than my kids like getting toys for Christmas. Over the past few months, I’ve been trying out some of the latest toys from manufacturers. Here are my picks for the hot toys of this holiday seasons.
I’m an advocate of STEM education and I love these building blocks because they encourage girls to invent and create. If you visit the website, you will see some impressive feats of engineering.
My kids and I often have Nerf gun battles in the backyard. This new blaster gives you serious rapid-strike firepower. With a range of up to 75 feet, you’ve got long-range striking power.
I’m a Doc McStuffins fan because the show portrays fathers in a positive way. It also teaches valuable lessons about health, fitness, family, and perseverance. This set allows your child to play doctor in a parent-approved manner.
I’ve been a wrestling fan since I was a child and now my sons and I enjoy watching WWE action every Monday and Friday night. We also create our own battles with our collection of WWE Action Figures (P.S. – kids will also like the WWE Brawlin’ Buddies)
My daughter likes female warriors such as Princess Merida and Katniss Everdeen. When we have our backyard Nerf battles, this is her weapon of choice.
I like this RC plane because it lets you control it with your body. The controller makes Dusty Crophopper follow your every move.
These dolls are perfect because they celebrate the beauty of diversity. Every doll represents positive statements, such as “I am proud,” “I am smart,” or “I am beautiful.”
I tried out these robots over the summer and I knew they would be a must-have item for the holiday season. The game reminds me of the movie, Real Steel. Battroborgs are motion controlled battling robots fueled by your fists. Battroborg’s advanced radio control technology also allows for you to host a Battle Royal where up to 20 robots can battle at one time.
I asked my daughter if she’d mind if her dad were a Brony. After her telling me how much it would embarrass her and ruin her social life, I agreed not to pursue that path. Nevertheless, you can get this new My Little Pony figure for yourself or your child. It talks, sings, twinkles, and moves. You can style her beautiful hair with the included comb and put her necklace on, then crown her with her royal tiara.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Toys
I played with TMNT toys when I was a child and now my kids are huge fans. Some of the items on their wish lists include:
- Lego Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Turtle Lair Attack & Lego Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Shellraiser Street Chase
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Action Figures & Accessories
- TMNT Rockmaster Guitar by Peavy
Skylanders Swap Force (for Wii and Wii U, Xbox 360 & Xbox One, PlayStations 3 & 4, and Nintendo 3DS)
My kids and I first learned how much fun Skylanders was after playing it in a Game Truck. This latest edition of the video game allows players to create new Skylanders by swapping out bottoms and tops.
My 6-year old son likes to take pictures with my iPhone. This Playskool camera allows budding photographers to create their own masterpieces. It also doubles as a projector.
I have a need for speed that I’ve passed on to my sons. They love racing and fast cars. This track allows them to have races day or night without taking up too much space in the house.
I first played this game at a conference and I was immediately hooked. Boom Boom Balloon is an exciting (and somewhat nerve-racking) game where each player tries to keep the balloon from popping.
