There is an Instagram account called Fashion Dads. If you visit the account, you will see several photos of dads dressing badly (President Obama even makes an appearance). Every time I visit Fashion Dads, I worry that I will see a photo of my dad. His dad style would blend well with the other dads on the account.

I don’t know what happened to my dad’s sense of fashion. When he was younger, he was a snazzy dresser. I look at old photos of him and wish I could have some of his old outfits. But somewhere along the way, he discovered dad jeans, socks and sandals, and baseball caps (which he wears with every outfit). I guess fatherhood does that to some men.

For Father’s Day, I wanted to help my dad step up his fashion game. I’ve helped other dads to dress better through my site, Mocha Man Style, and I knew I could do the same for my father. I went to Sears to get a few wardrobe staples that would immediately enhance his look. I picked Sears because they have brands my dad can relate to such as Levi’s, Docker’s, and Arrow.

I started by selecting some up-to-date jeans to replace his dad jeans. I found a pair of Levi’s 505 jeans that would look great on him.

Next, I got him a nice shirt and tie set and a handcrafted belt set by Dockers.

Finally, I swapped out his beat-up sneakers for some new adidas. I like these adidas Derrick Rose Lakeshore sneakers because they remind me of the adidas sneakers he used to wear in the 80s.

These items should help my dad to dress better. In exchange for these gifts, I think I will get a written promise that he will retire his dad jeans and sandals. He can keep the caps, for now.

Even if your dad doesn’t need any wardrobe help, you can still find great gifts for all types of fathers at Sears. In store and at Sears.com/destinationdad, Sears has a broad selection of products for DIY Dads, Outdoor Dads, Fitness-Focused Dads, Chef Dads, or Techie Dads. To find the perfect Father’s Day gift at a great price, visit Sears during the Member Private Event on Sunday, June 12th. During the event, members will receive an extra 10-15% back in points and an extra 5% back if you purchase using the Sears app.
