There are many great fathers who don’t always get the credit they deserve. However, it is important to encourage dads and let them know that we appreciate their hard work and dedication.

Mocha Dad has partnered with the movie Black or White to honor a dedicated dad in Houston. Black or White is the story of a grandfather (Academy Award® winner Kevin Costner) who is suddenly left to care for his beloved granddaughter. When the little girl’s paternal grandmother (Academy Award® nominee Octavia Spencer) seeks custody, a legal battle ensues that forces the families to confront their true feelings on race, forgiveness and understanding. Anchored by an all-star cast and based on real events, the movie is a look at two seemingly different worlds, in which nothing is as simple as black or white.

You can nominate a deserving dad by writing a brief 140 character description of why your nominee should win the prize. Post your nomination in the comments below or on Twitter with the hashtag #HoustonDad.

The winner will receive 2 Houston Rockets tickets, a $50 VISA gift card, 2 tickets for BLACK OR WHITE and a $20 gift card for concessions at Cinemark (total prize value at approx. $200).

Deadline to enter is January 30, 2015.

Stay Strong,
